Sponsor a BLDRfly Story
Local journalism with an adventure kick.
BLDRfly flies as more than a magazine — it is a movement. Designed to unleash the immense dynamism Boulder has and foster productive conversations by exploring the people, businesses and issues shaping the future in + from Boulder, BLDRfly is locally owned and operated. All staff and service providers work from Boulder.
As you may know, investigative journalism requires immense resources. A finished investigative story represents hours and hours and hours of research, reporting, verification, accuracy checks and writing. The craft of journalism, which requires every sentence be verifiably accurate, has an extremely high bar. Nothing spurs conversation and action like a well-reported article from a credible source.
By sponsoring a BLDRfly Story, you can pick a topic you want professional, award-winning journalism applied toward. You just pick the story, after some conversation with BLDRfly editors, and then we turn on the journalism engines, which involves researching the topic in depth, talking to the important people involved, finding insightful stats and data or compiling it ourselves, crafting and writing, packaging, photographing, podcasting and then publishing the results.
BLDRfly maintains a rigorous focus on the truth. We bring a clear-eyed, honest, transparent view of Boulder. Review our content — you’ll find we are fair and accurate.
BLDRfly founder Paul Hagey, who has a Master’s in Journalism from the University of Missouri and who won national journalism awards while a reporter at the trade publication he worked before founding BLDRfly, directs, reports and edits the final pieces.
BLDRfly has yet to do many investigative pieces because of the great labor and time involved. By sponsoring a story, you can help us create powerful journalism that will make Boulder better. See one of our most in-depth stories here — about the influence of local commercial ownership on downtown small businesses.
Pricing varies depending on complexity of the topic and scope. Email Paul at paul@bldrfly.com to begin a conversation.
