With a persistent six inches of snow on Boulder’s ground and cross-country skiers on the loose outside my window, outdoorsy couples won’t have any trouble finding adventure.
But for those of us who also want to get cozy indoors for almighty Valentine’s Day, Boulder has some great options — whether you and your boo want to grab a drink or get your dancing shoes on.
Get Down Caribbean-Style at Jungle
Celebrating self-love and human appreciation, Jungle Tiki Bar is hosting a singles night (Undercover — Valentine’s Day might be the best singles night)! If you’ve never been to the cozy plant-laden, record-playing tiki bar, it feels like a twinkly tree-house by the beach.
“No matter how you identify or whom you identify with, just come party!” Jungle says. “Celebrate Yourself!”

Go to starry Flagstaff
If you’re looking for a true Boulder romantic mountain dinner, Flagstaff Restaurant on Flagstaff Mountain offers breathtaking views at 6,000 feet and delicious food and wine. Or if you’re in a more adventurous mood, bring a thermos of hot chocolate (or schnaps!!), a blanket and watch starry Boulder from the sunrise amphitheater on Flagstaff Mountain!
Dance and lounge at swanky Rosetta Hall
Recently opened as Boulder’s only — and arguably sparkliest — food hall, Rosetta Hall never disappoints for a date night. With its giant, upscale warehouse vibe, computer-digitized projector lights and bleacher seats, whether you want to perch upstairs in the overlooking secluded nook or break it down on the dance floor, this space has it all. Friday nights, Rosetta hosts Hip Hop Dance Night starting at 10:30 p.m.!
Beyond the Mountain Sun
With an incredible expanse of the Flatirons visible from its outside deck, Beyond the Mountain Brewing Company provides a feeling of retreat while staying “plugged in.” With its rotating brews, high ceilings and regular live music, this brewery offers lovers a creative spark. Check its V Day Groupon –flight to share and two pints for 36 percent discount.
Dance Night in Boulder’s backyard, the Rayback
Central Boulder’s favorite indoor-outdoor event space and food truck haven Rackback Collective has announced a “Sensual Valentine’s Day Party” dance night! The craft beer hub boasts Bachata, drink specials and surprise guests for a ticket price of $7.
Spice it up with McDevitt Taco Supply
One of our favorite taco joints located right off of Baseline Road, McDevitt Taco Supply will be running a Chili Mango Cheesecake, Mezcal Manhattan, and the Surf and Turf Taco. If you’re wondering, that taco includes garlic and black pepper steak with honey chili shrimp topped with Cilantro, onions and an avocado-tomatillo salsa. (Not going to lie, that could make anyone fall in love.)
At Boulder Theater, which will be hosting The Marcus King Band’s sold out show, “El Dorado Tour,” McDevitt plans to offer chips and salsa, 4 tacos, and desert for $20.
